President: Patricia Elia, B. Comm., LL.B, Lawyer at Elia Associates
Patricia’s condominium and corporate practice of 18 years encompasses all aspects of corporate work for condominiums including contract review, resolutions and corporate litigation support. She uses her experience and knowledge to manage the risks faced by unit owners, condo directors and third parties to ensure successful outcomes so that clients can breathe easy.
Vice President and Communications Chair: Debbie Dale, President at MCRS Property Management
Debbie is President of MCRS Property Management, a CMRAO licensed customer centred property management firm dedicated to serving Condominium Boards and Landlords from Orillia to North Bay. Debbie shares invaluable insight acquired throughout a successful 25+ year property management career at various CCI Seminars. Published industry articles include DEL Condo Life, The Muskoka Magazine and Condo Business Magazine. Debbie served on the 2001 Founding Board of CCI – Huronia and returned to the Board in 2016/17 as the Membership Chair. Debbie is a member of the CMRAO (Condominium Management Regulatory Authority of Ontario) Stakeholder's Implementation Working Committee and participated in the compilation of the CMRAO Interpretive Guide for Interpreting the Definition of “Providing Condo Management Services” published in 2018.
Education Chair: Sonja Hodis, LLB, Lawyer at Hodis Law
Sonja is a condominium lawyer based in Barrie that practices condominium law across Ontario. Sonja advises condominium boards and owners on their rights and responsibilities under the Condominium Act, 1998 and other legislation that affects condominiums such as the Human Rights Code. Sonja has also gained recognition for creativity and tenacity in ground breaking human rights caselaw in the condominium industry. She represents her clients at all levels of court, various Tribunals and in mediation/arbitration proceedings. Sonja also has legal experience in employment law and wills and estates. Sonja has been a member and on the Board of Directors for CCI Huronia for over 15 years. She is currently the co-chair of CCI Huronia’s Education Committee and the Events Committee. She has served as a past member of the National CCI Board of Directors and is the current chair of the National Leaders’ Forum committee. Sonja is a frequent speaker at CCI educational programs and has written numerous articles for condominium related publications.
Membership Chair: Ryan Griffiths, Director, CWB Maxium Financial
Ryan is the Director of Condominium Finance with CWB Maxium Financial, which provides customized financing solutions to Condominium Corporations across Canada. Ryan is also an active member of CCI Golden Horseshoe where he sits as the Chair of the Professional Partners Committee, an active member of ACMO, and a frequent exhibitor and participant in industry events and seminars across Canada.
Secretary: Joanna Tomaszewski, Registered Condominium Manager at Bayshore Property Management Inc.
Joanna Tomaszewski is a Registered Condominium Manager with Bayshore Property Management Inc where she oversees the company’s condominium division. Joanna has been a property manager for 25 years and a condominium manager for 18 years. With education in economics and financial planning and with continued education in condominium management she provides support to all the condominium managers at Bayshore and to the Boards of over 80 condominium corporations.
Joanna has joined the board of CCI Huronia Chapter 8 years ago and is very pleased to volunteer this extra time to help provide support to condominium boards north of Toronto.
Treasurer: Blair Spinney, CPA, CA, Partner at Adams & Miles
Blair is a partner of Adams & Miles LLP, a firm of Chartered Professional Accountants that audits 430 condominium corporations in Ontario. Blair is the Treasurer and sits on the administration and membership committees.
Director and Communications Committee: Ashley Winberg, Elia Associates, B.A. (High Hons), J.D.
Ashley Winberg practices condominium law with a specialty in employment law and human rights matters. Her breadth of experience includes solving legal issues pertaining to condominium development, post turn-over governance, operations and enforcement matters including those matters related to contract review and negotiation, including management agreements; shared facilities; human rights; employment; easements; insurance; municipal planning, health and safety, Tarion, construction deficiencies and compliance with the Condominium Act, 1998 as amended under Bill 106. Ashley is a member of various industry associations and committees, and is currently on the Board of Directors of CCI Huronia, the Chair of CCI Huronia's Communication Committee, a member of CCI Toronto's Volunteer Committee and a member of CCI Toronto's By-Law Sub-Committee.
Director and Communications Committee: Ashley Lamb
With over 13 years of real estate experience behind her, Ashley Lamb is known in her industry as a condo expert. During her time in Toronto, she worked for the #1 condo selling real estate brokerage in the downtown core, gained experience on a condominium board of directors, lived in and owned condominiums, and acquired first hand experience in buying and selling pre-construction properties. Ashley has since brought her expertise in condos to Barrie and founded Barrie Condo Corner; a hub where people can go to get information on condos in Barrie, Barrie’s condo market and condominium tips for sellers and buyers. Having a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and award winning service in real estate for over a decade, Ashley has a good understanding for market trends and statistics and has a large following from her monthly condo market report she writes for Barrie.
Director: Richard Murray, Director of Sales, Baluke Dental Studios
After working in dental sales and marketing management for 15 years, Richard semi-retired into consulting to the dental industry, while still active in volunteer work with several groups, including many years as a Director/President for his condo corp. He has been with CCI Huronia for 4 years now and enjoys providing input based upon his Director and management experience. Like many other CCI members, he actively participates in Continuing Education activities at the local CCI level.
Director: Mina Tesseris, P. Eng, LEED AP, RJ Burnside & Associates
Mina Tesseris is a Professional Engineer, LEED Accredited Professional and Senior Engineer at R.J. Burnside & Associates Limited. Mina has been a Director of the CCI Huronia Chapter since its inception in 2001 and currently serves as the Chairman of the Education Committee.
Director: Michele Farley, President of FCS Fire Consulting Services Ltd.
Michele Farley, President of FCS Fire Consulting Services Ltd, is a fire code expert with more than 30 years’ experience in the industry. Her firm specializes in fire code compliance in condominium. Michele has been an active board member of CCI for many years.
Director: Jon Juffs, Director Condominium/Strata Group at CCI Group Inc.
Jon is a volunteer member of the CCI – Huronia Chapter (past president & current board member), as well as the CCI – Toronto & Area Chapter (Professional Associate), CCI– National (past Chapter Relations chair and Communications Committee member), and past ACMO (Regional Committee member) and is currently employed by McIntosh Perry, as the Director Condominium/Strata Group. Jon’s work experience, since 1988, has been continuously focussed on architectural technology and building science services for many forms of occupied buildings and in 2006, he co-authored Reserve Fund Essentials a layperson’s guide to reserve fund planning and control. His service motto is “A home is more than roof or walls or lofty curving stairs …” it’s a people thing after all.
Director: Jeff Struewing, VP Operations - Shore to Slope Property Management
Jeff has enjoyed being in the property management business since 2002 servicing the Collingwood, Blue Mountains, Wasaga Beach and Stayner areas. In addition to managing day to day operations, he is an active member of CCI and ACMO. He is committed to being knowledgeable in building components and materials, repairs and maintenance, and providing guidance with reserve fund studies, budget preparation, planning major projects as well as keeping informed on changes to condominium legislation and other condominium matters.
Director: Joanne Gates
Joanne Gates, MSW, has been a veteran social worker within the greater Simcoe area for the past 25 plus years. She became involved with Condominium boards over 35 years ago after purchasing her first condo town house west of Toronto, and wanted to understand the process of how Condominium were run and where homeowners money was being spent? Joanne resides in Barrie and has been chair of a 52 acre Condominium complex in the area for the past 23 years. When not helping others she likes to write (she is in the process of publishing a book!), spend time with family, and walk her furry best friend.
